TTNA lures world-class experts

NATIONAL: Europe's leading technical fabrication experts will descend on Melbourne next year to provide industry with the latest information on nonwoven technology. 

The Technical Textiles and Nonwoven Association (TTNA) has teamed with the International Fibre Centre and equipment specialists Ramsay McDonald to deliver a two-day training program on controlling fibre orientation in nonwovens.

Key speakers will include Paul Verbeke, technical director of France's Bekaert Carding Solutions; Ing. Giacomo Meucci, regional sales director for Nonwoven Technology Oerlikon Neumag Italy S.p.A; and Bernd Roedig, sales manager felting needles for Groz-Beckert KG.

Topics will include fibre alignment and matrials rheology, materials characterisation and mechanical properties, modelling of processes and materials properties and needle designs and their effect on the needled nonwoven.

The program aims to provide industry with the latest skills, knowledge and technologies required to modify, transform and enhance synthetic and natural fibre orientation in nonwoven textiles.

The course will take place on the 26th and 27th of February 2008 at RMIT's Brunswick campus.
