MELBOURNE: Fashion retail chain Cue has continued its run of success, taking out the inugural Myer Supplier of the Year Awards.

The awards, staged in Melbourne on Friday (November 30), saw the national womenswear brand scoop the pool after it also took out the award for the most outstanding concession business across the department store.

2007 has proved a good year for the Sydney-based brand after it also picked up the readers choice award in the Prix De marie claire awards and was named the best Australian chain store in the Harper's Bazaar online style awards.

Other winners on the night included Kaysare International and Voyager Distributing which won the exclusive Myer brands category and, Bendon and Sunshades which was named the winner for apparel, accessories and cosmetics.

Pacific Network was named as best supply chain.

Myer CEO Bernie Brookes said the store's relationship with the Rod Levis-led brand had proved mutually beneficial.

"Cue has been a fantastic partner for our business and I would like to thank them for their support. Myer is the exclusive department store home of Cue and it has been very proactive in driving business initiatives in our stores."

Brookes said Myer was in the process of building a "world class chain of department stores across Australia" and was receiving significant support along the way.

The inaugural supplier awards sought to recognise the importance of partners in the business, Brookes said.
