Ragtraders have a vested interest in the next generation of designers - given the latter's degree of talent, they'll either employ them or be employed by them.
It probably comes as little wonder then, that a recent graduate exhibition by Sydney's St George College managed to draw a formidable industry crowd. Representatives from Veronika Maine, Culture Shock, Gerber Technology, Running Bare and Tea Rose were on hand to view the works of graduating fashion design students.
Given free creative reign, their signature collections were designed to reflect their individual personality and special area of interest.
Natassia Evans walked away with the top prize for her layered couture gown while Sandra Wong was given a special mention.
