SYDNEY: Sports apparel company Classic Sports has beefed up its payroll.

Less than a year after acquiring Bont and two years after buying Yetimo, the Sydney-headquartered company has added six new staff members to help it manage its burgeoning portfolio.

Rosa Padula has been appointed as operations director in a role that will see her cover the full gamut of manufacturing, sourcing, warehouse and distribution.

Marty Gurr, who has been named administration and property director, will manage the 10,000 square metres of property owned by the company in both Surry Hills and Camperdown.

Bernie Favaloro started at the company this week in the newly created role of sales and marketing director. Having had a long career with Grace Bros and Myer, Favaloro was previously the national sales manager for cosmetics brand Estee Lauder.

Other personel changes include the development of a new sales support department which will be manned by two new sales staff. The department will be headed by the company's assistant operations manager, Darryl Tong.

Classic director Tony Magnus said the appointments, which coincide with a number of new licenses acquired by the brand for the 2007/08 season, would be used to springboard future growth.
