SYDNEY: A delegation of leading Italian designers, jewellery makers and artisans is set to make its way down under.
The Italian Trade Commission, in conjunction with regional industry body Alta Roma, will present a series of exhbitions, meetings, press conferences and seminars in Sydney next month. Showcasing fashion and jewellery from Italy's Lazio region - of which Rome is the capital - the 'Lazio Lifestyle in Australia' event will run from November 5 to 8 at a number of high-profile sites including Doltone House and the Museum of Contemporary Art.
Highlights of the showcase include a Melbourne Cup lunch and race screening with Italian designers on November 6. Showroom exhibitions open to both industry and public will take place on the 7th, followed by an invitation-only fashion event on November 8.
Participating designers include Renato Balestra, a powerhouse with over 30 different collections across accessories, makeup, perfume, home products, apparel, furniture and haute couture; Ettore Bilotta, a haute couture designer who has worked at leading European houses including Lancetti and Curiel and Susanna Liso, a former costume designer who now works across haute couture and ready-to-wear.
