Being a good sport
The McEldowney House of Porter has been one of extreme disappointment since the last time we spoke. And of course it has everything to do with rugby and nothing to do with fashion or the business thereof.
First there was the little matter of that rugby game where those nasty French boys bled dry four million Kiwi hearts when they so ruthlessly disposed of our mighty All Blacks in the quarter final of the Rugby World Cup.
Then there was that miserable English uprising where every Pommy git I have ever known suddenly felt the need to get in touch en mass and remind me their team was still in contention (although I suspect this may not be the case by the time you read this).\
And finally there was that bizarre incident where our beloved winger Dougie Howlett joined his team-mates for post-match commiserations, accidentally racking up a bar tab of $31,000, vandalising two cars and rearranging his hotel room in the process.
So in keeping in the spirit of all things disheartening I am going to further disappoint both Scottish-extracted husband in training (SHIT) and Dog by making this the only time I make mention of them. Especially as I have news that is much more upbeat and decidedly more interesting.
