Unzipped - Caroline McIntosh
Name
Caroline McIntosh
Age
35 and something
Position
International Sales Consultant – Fashion Industry
Austrade Project Manager - International Buyers Program, Rosemount Australian Fashion Week 2007
Salary
Ohhh…was I supposed to ask for a fee?
My childhood dream job
Air Force Fighter Pilot – Big "Top Gun" Fan
My first job
Selling Italian-made shoes in a boutique in Paris
My big break
Becoming the general manager of a trading company specialising in Pacific Island trade. This role took me to San Francisco in the USA where I met my husband, a fashion photographer. The rest is history
My biggest risk
Moving to New Zealand 15 years ago with $1000 in my purse, one suit case and the promise of a job in a shipping company
My proudest moment
Being photographed by my husband for Camilla Franks' Women of the World coffee table book. Proceeds go to UNIFEM (UNICEF’s Women's Rights fund)
My biggest fashion faux pas
Living through the 80’s in my teens. Enough said
If I could do it over
I would follow my dreams and intuitions earlier
If I wasn't in fashion I'd be
I would still be involved in international sales
My idea that never took off
It's still on the backburner…it will take off
In my spare time I
Read fiction, I cook for my friends
People would be surprised to know I
Used to be a navigator in rally racing
I want my epitaph to say
Caroline lived her life to the fullest, never missed an opportunity to experience something new and loved to share her experiences with others.
