Weak $ impact
Fashion retailers brace themselves for inflation as analysts predict Australia's declining dollar will cause a hike in prices on the shop floor, with reports the unfavourable exchange rate has already cut margins for retailers which manufacture offshore or import their trimmings and fabrications.

Melbourne north's first new outlet shopping precinct in 40 years officially opens. Located at University Hill, Bundoora, 18 kms from Melbourne's CBD, the $60 million Brand Junction will host brands including Victoria's only MNG discount store and the nation's largest Guess outlet store.

Eyewear specialist OPSM launches a revolutionary flagship concept featuring a contact lens service and instore barista. Brands stocked at the George Street Sydney store include Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, Versace, Miu Miu, Tiffany & Co, Roberto Cavalli, Tom Ford, Mont Blanc and Chloe.
