Byron Bay artist Colin Heaney has made a welcome foray into the fashion industry. The born-again designer has just launched a range of exclusive, digitally printed scarves and sarongs for the middle to high-end womenswear market. Priced from $120 to $298, the scarfs are produced locally and bulk printed and finished in the silk capital of Hangzhou, China. Healey said twelve of the designs are limited editions with only 500 currently available throughout the world. The designer is currently working on a full range of dresses, skirts and tops. "I feel that because I have come into fashion as an outsider, I have developed designs and concepts that are different," he said.
