SYDNEY: Up-and-coming womenswear label blanc + delta is getting set for a bloody winter.

The Queensland-based brand, which is owned and designed by Bianca Daly, will unveil its Espionage-themed autumn/winter 2008 collection at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week today.

Offering a taster before the big show, Daly said her inspiration came from "espionage stories of the 30s and 40s, filled with enigmatic females waging a secret war behind enemy lines". Daly also attributed Romanian born model Irina Lazareanu as her muse, adding that her "strong, moody features" complimented the secret agent theme.

The collection features strong, fitted silhouettes – think military motorcycle jackets from WWII – offset by light dresses in soft silks, satins and cotton blends. Detailing includes heavy duty zips and wide panelled shoulder straps while patterns range from contrasting black checks to geometrical shapes.

The range also has a hint of modern sportswear with race backs in cotton metal edged in silk georgette and silk satin.

blanc + delta is currently stocked in boutiques such as Adrenalin, Tuchuzy, Pompidou, Bam & Juju, Entity and Kinkikoko.
