Day at the races

MELBOURNE: Determined not to let the threat of equine flu darken their day, a group of retailers will today band together to show off what they consider the "must have" accessories for the spring racing season.

In all the event - which includes jewellery, millinery, footwear and fashion - will feature creations from five Collins Street retailers including Kosminsky Jewellers, Kim Fletcher, Serena Lindeman, Cactus Jam aand Peter Sheppard Footwear.

The event will also feature a panel discussion with commentators including Melanie Sheppard, Ron Santuccione, Maggie Krncevic and Sheryl Towensend with tips from further make-up artists, hair stylists, beauty and fashion "gurus".

Peter Sheppard Footwear buyer Melanie Sheppard said it was hoped 'A day at the races on Collins Street' - which kicks off at 10am - would become an annual event.
