Player Performance

Sportswear marker Canterbury has unveiled a new weapon in the Australian Wallaby's scrap to regain the Rugby World Cup - a new look rugby jersey. Designed to meet the needs of 15 different player positions, the slimfit jersey includes an underarm stretch panel for improved freedom of movement and a new lightweight Temex fabric that reduces moisture retention and the weight of the item itself. Tested by senior players - including George Smith, Al Baxter and Matt Giteau - the jersey was a collaborative effort with Canterbury designers and the United Kingdom's Loughborough University staff taking three years to perfect it. While the authentic version was launched in Sydney on July 5 and is not for sale, replica jerseys will retail from $170.
