SYDNEY: Westfield has added three new fashion stores to the already star-studded fashion line-up at its Bondi Junction location. Sleepwear brand Peter Alexander, leisurewear brand Metalicus and denim label G-Star have all leased space within the complex in recent months. The Metalicus store, located on level three of the mall, marks the first time the brand has opened a store outside of Melbourne. Other fashion stores already in the complex include Saba, Arthur Galan, Alannah Hill, Mimco and Wayne Cooper.

Arty tees
NATIONAL: American denimwear label Lee has announced an exclusive collaboration with Canadian artist Sonja Ahlers. Available in Lee stockists from July, the collection includes a range of tees and dresses which feature fragments of drawing, writing and collage. A range of printing techniques and applications - including flocking and foils - have also been used to enhance the artwork, which is inspire by icons from the West Coast underground. Prices range from $49.95 for an oversized ghost print singlet to $69.95 for a butterfly sleeve faces print dress.

Subfusco scores again
BRISBANE: Rapidly expanding menswear brand Subfusco has officially opened a new flagship store in Fortitude Valley. Set inside the recently developed TCB Building, the boutique will compliment the label's first concept store in the capital's West End. Head designer and founder Joshua Scacheri said the new space reflects Subfusco's European aesthetic and debuted with his autumn/winter 2007 collection 'Apertif'. Along with the store launch, the budding businessman also recently showcased his spring/summer 2007/08 range at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week. Inspired by colours of the natural environment, the collection features skinny leg jeans, loose t-shirts, textured linen pants, signature tailored jackets, shorts with contrast panels, vests and slim fit French cuff shirts.

Asia shows off
SYDNEY: Exhibitors from more than 12 countries are set to make their way to Australia for the annual Asia On Show trade fair in Darling Harbour. Staged at the Sydney Exhibition Centre from May 17 to 20 - and open to trade only for the first two days - the show is free of charge and will include a range of products from overseas manufacturers including clothing, textiles, sportswear, fashion accessories, leather goods and jewellery. Blue bling
NATIONAL: Surfwear brands Billabong, Nixon, Reef and Dakine have joined forces to raise $1 million in three years for the preservation of oceans, waves and beaches. Dubbed Project Blue, the fashion initiative is the brainchild of Surfrider Foundation, a nonprofit organisation focused on ocean conservation. Launching in June, Project Blue will see each brand donate two dollars from the sale of specially marked products to the organisation; with Electric Blue offering two of its newly designed frame styles specifically for the campaign.
