Driza-Bone takes to the high seas

Iconic Australian outerwear label Driza-bone is about to get wet.
The Queensland-based heritage brand has been awarded a unique contract to supply crew and team uniforms for adventure company Orion Expedition Cruises.
The agreement, which kicked into affect in April, will see the apparel brand outfit all of Orion's expedition crew as well as those onboard the company's five-star Zodiac vessel with apparel from its outdoor adventure range 'Horizon' including hats, and cooler bag products.
With functionality, comfort and protection key issues for the adventure company, the range of apparel supplied by Driza-Bone includes long-sleeved shirts, pants and hats that offer a sun protection factor of 30.
Among the other items selected by Orion were pieces that included ventilation patches to remove sweat and moisture and quick drying attributes.
Driza-Bone corporate sales coordinator Carol Glisson said the win was a significant one for the brand best known for its oilskin work coats.
Glisson said while the brand supplied apparel to many mining companies as well as BP fuel, the launch of the Horizon range meant it could now target other expedition-type companies as the range was designed for this type of activity.
Glisson, who declined to reveal the value of the agreement, said she was unaware of the other brands invited to bid for the contract.
The brand would continue to work with Orion staff to make any improvements in design that may be necessary. As part of the agreement, additional Driza-Bone apparel would also be sold on board, she said.
