Black Winter Wonderland

Alex Perry has crossed over to the dark side.
After a bright spring/summer campaign with Myer last year, the eveningwear designer was decidedly sombre for his winter debut with rival David Jones.
Staged at Sydney's Town Hall earlier this month, the department store's autumn/winter 2007 parade was, admittedly, a generally muted affair with blacks, greys and dark metallics dominating the runway.
Perry's dark creations replaced the infamous yellow frock worn by Jennifer Hawkins last season and a dramatic houndsooth-print dress officially marked the designer's conversion to David Jones.
Key designer collections also included New Zealand-based brands Sabatini and Trelise Cooper along with a strong contingent of local designers such as Willow, sass & bide, Alice McCall, Kirrily Johnston, Alannah Hill and Zimmerman.
Myer is set to stage its own winter reprise in early March.
