Robyn Ayres graces Fashion Exposed
QUEENSLAND: Robyn Alp's lifelong dream to become a designer of contemporary women's clothing is finally taking shape.
The shape in question is all elegance and comfort in the form of womenswear label Robyn Ayres, to receive its first airing at Fashion Exposed Sydney from March 11 to 13.
A recent graduate of Queensland University of Technology, Alp registered the Robyn Ayres label last October and has already attracted interest from retailers including renowned boutique Isobel Taylor in Edward Street, Brisbane.
It was hoped stockists would be drawn to the label's clean, commercial styling, she said.
"With a palette of white, black and stone, Robyn Ayres fuses masculine and feminine styling, with voiles and ruffles offsetting the straight lines of canvas and drill style suiting. Textiles include lightweight cotton jacquard and digital prints developed from historical broderie anglaise from the Embroiderers Guild of Brisbane."
Available in sizes 8 to 16, wholesale prices range from $190 for dresses to $390 for digitally printed versions; $120 to $190 for shirts, $100 to $150 for pants; $90 for shorts; $100 to $110 for skirts: $55 for tees or $155 for digitally printed versions. Other pieces in the collection include leotards ($65) or $175 for digitally printed versions; $220 for pea coat jackets and $340 for long car coats.
"This label has an identity in elegance, sophistication, confidence, the beautiful and the sexy. It delivers prime quality fabrics, tailoring, and close attention to detail, comfort and mix and match pieces that suit the resort lifestyle," she said.
