SYDNEY: Sports supremo Layne Beachley is set to tread new waters.
Just months after winning her record beating seventh world surf championship, the Sydney surfer has announced plans to launch a new range of beach jewellery.

Staging its official launch at the impending Fashion Exposed trade fair, Beachley's new self-titled collection will be positioned alongside big name brands Billabong, Quiksilver and Roxy.

While officially targeted at two distinctively different markets - "active surfer" and beach girls" aged 12 to 24, and "lifestyle surfers" aged between 25 and 40 - Beachley said similar to her apparel line, the jewellery range had been designed for real outdoor girls of all ages.

"They don't have to be surfers to appreciate clothes and jewellery designed by a girl who shares their passion for life."
Created in partnership with Bico Australia, the Beachley line features natural shells, pewter pendants and, wood and leather inserts.

Manufactured both in New South Wales and China, the pieces are available in a colour palette that includes pinks, turquoises, purples, reds, emeralds, blues and metallics with price points ranging between $10 and $20.
