SYDNEY: International footwear company C&Y Pacific, the manufacturer of leather footwear brand Mileno, has been named as the official fashion footwear supplier for the 2008 Australian Olympics.

MELBOURNE: An exhibition detailing the history of that stalwart of footwear, the sneaker, looks set to draw foot traffic to the National Gallery of Victoria over the coming months. Sneakers: Classics to Customs will run until July 8 at the Myer Fashion & Textiles Gallery, NGV International. Visitors can expect an exploration of the evolution of sneakers from functional sportswear to cult fashion. Featuring classics including the Converse All Star and Dunlop Volley to one-off customised designs, the exhibition includes 300 sneakers from 28 collections and is the first exhibition of sneakers to be held in an Australian art museum.

Breakfast to remember
MELBOURNE: Representatives of some of Australia's leading advertising agencies are set to headline a unique marketing breakfast, staged as part of the impending L'Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival (LMFF). The breakfast, held March 9, is themed around the emergence of new marketing media under the title: "clicking with your customer". Maguire gone
QUEENSLAND: Heritage brand Driza-Bone has farewelled its long serving managing director John Maguire. It is understood Maguire, who served with the brand for 18 years, will continue to advise the label however also hopes to consult to other companies. Driza-Bone CEO Rod Williams will take a more hands-on role within the company with the company confirming it had no plans to fill the vacancy left by Maguire.
