ADELAIDE: Some of the world's leading experts in body shape have spent the past week discussing the finer details of sizing systems at the University of Adelaide. Brought to Australia by mannequin manufacturer Daisy Veitch, the group are from the World Engineering Anthropometry Resource (WEAR) group which collects body measurement data for a wide variety of design and engineering applications. SYDNEY: Pacific Brands has appointed independent testing company Qualspec to test all of the group's divisions in China. The testing company, which has labs across Sydney, Huizhou and Shanghai, has appointed a dedicated customer service executive - who speaks fluent English, Mandarin an French - to service the Pac Brand's contract. The agreement, for an undisclosed sum, is a significant win for the 11-year-old company which specialises in testing, inspection, factory and social compliance auditing.

SYDNEY: Eighteen-year-old designer Jacqui Alexander has had a lucrative start to the new year. Recently taking part in the Middle Eastern industry event 'Aus Style', the prodigy walked away with $480,000 worth of sales. Alexander said the event would now become a staple on her business calendar after department store Harvey Nichols and Dubai boutiques Tigerlilly, Ginger and Lace and Sauce signed up for the designer's high-quality womenswear collection.

SYDNEY: Two centuries' worth of fashion, jewellery, textiles and accessories will be on display during a unique fair aimed at celebrating bygone eras. Dubbed The Way We Wear Vintage Fashion Fair, the March 17 to 28 event is themed around the Sydney Harbour Bridge with fashions from 1932 available on display together with larger than life models who will be wandering through the fair in their fashions celebrating the era of the bridge.
