Bonet covers all underwear and outerwear bases
"My grandmother was a couturier and my mother was a great designer as well. I have grown up in this industry and from the age of about 12 have been making dresses for other people."
Nearly four years since launching her self-titled intimate apparel label, Bonet said the move to add evening dresses to her collection was something she had been "dying to do" for quite some time.
While several of her comtemporaries had entered the same category, Bonet said the key point of difference with her range was the fact they were designed to be ultra sexy and flattering but still managed to 'give' with the wearer's natural walking or sitting stance.
As someone who had sensitive skin, Bonet said she had also made sure all the fabrications used in the development of the gowns were ultra soft so as not to cause irritation.
The as yet untitled capsule collection, which debuted in the preview section of last week's trade fair Fashion Exposed, features 25 pieces in various lengths.
Available in sizes one to four, the vintage-inspired range is manufactured in Australia by Bonet's own Sydney-based factory using pure silks, pure wools and "lots" of beading and sequins. Available across an extensive colour palette - including vintage rose, ruby, green, sable - it is priced from $250 to $600.
Bonet said plans were also underway to launch the label across both the US and UK in an attempt to leverage on the success of her lingerie line.
