:Victoria's two "highly commended" retailers both serve the women's middle market but, with Meek & Folly located in the inner suburb of North Melbourne and Traffik operating in the regional town of Shepparton, they face different challenges.
"North Melbourne is a growing area," says Meek & Folly owner Samantha Lehmann, who established her store three years ago after extensively researching the area's potential for passing trade. Lehmann has a growing list of faithful clients, lured by an enticing array of labels and a relaxed and friendly shopping experience. Next year she plans to enhance her offer with the launch of an in store "shopping party" service.
Meanwhile, Traffik's location in a regional town has encouraged it to create a retail experience to "rival anything in the city", says owner Hismet Sali.
Traffik has been operating for over 30 years and sales continue to grow year on year as a result of outstanding fit out and an excellent range.
"We're good buyers. We know the market and the local area very well and we hand
