Goose takes the rein of Australian art label
From mid October onwards, the label infamous for its freehand brushstroke graphics will be exclusively distributed and manufactured by Gooses T-shirts. With twenty five years of experience in manufacturing, printing and distribution, the newly appointed licencee is set to bring lucrative benefits to the growing apparel and accessory brand.
Spokesperson for Weiss Art Danny May said that Gooses T-shirt's ties with major souvenir stores and chains is particularly enticing for the company.
"They are also able to absorb the increased production and sales with minimal increase in overheads. We have always prided ourselves on manufacturing our products in Australia from Australian imports, however competing with cheap Chinese imports in terms of price has been a major problem in recent years.
Now, with our new association with Gooses, we expect to be able to lower some of our prices while still maintaining the Australian-made image."
Originally heading its own distribution and manufacturing activities, Weiss Art clothing is locally produced from Australian fabrics. Sold in Australian airports, souvenir shops and three Weiss Art shops in Sydney and Cairns, the 20-year-old brand offers apparel for adults, children and babies and also sells mugs, coasters, placemats, kitchen napery, cosmetic bags and carry bags, wallets and backpacks and other accessories.
Targeted at tourists and travellers, the apparel line is priced from $20 to $30 with sizes ranging from ladies small to XXL unisex, children's one to 12 and babies from 000.
As part of the new distribution deal with Gooses T-shirts, all Weiss Art apparel will now carry the distinctive "green and gold" kangaroo swing ticket; a move May said will reiterate the brand's local image.
"The biggest challenge for us was finding the right manufacturer/distributor that understands the souvenir market and knows the customers. Gooses will maintain the Australian made image and excellent quality that the tourists and locals have come to expect from the Weiss Art brand."
