London-based denim brand Superfine is going from strength to strength.
After conquering the international market with its super-skinny range of jeans, the one-part Australian company is now set to launch its first menswear line.
Headed by Northridge born stylist Lucy Pinter and illustrator/photographer Flora Evans, Superfine is reportedly aiming to capitalise on its growing international fan base with major stockists now flung throughout the US, Asian and European markets.
Scheduled for a mid 2007 release, the "rock and roll" inspired menswear line will feature collaborations with stylist Judy Blame and punk visual designer Nick Egan; who also worked on the brand's spring/summer 07 women's line. The two will design and coordinate all of the prints featured on the men's range of stonewashed, oversized tees.
Framed as a focused capsule collection, the 'Kicking In' line will also include jeans - such as 'Sly' the skinny, 'Kid' the straight leg and 'Rebel' the shorts - slouchy cotton knits in black, stone and khaki and two jackets, 'Trip' in denim and the sleeveless 'Cash' in worn leather. Aimed at the youth market, the small collection will test the market for menswear with "slim leg silhouettes" and "everyday classics" making up the core offering.
Manufactured in Europe, the collection is priced at $530 for the classic denim jacket with prices starting at $269 for shorts, $369 for jeans and $149 for tanks.
Hitting the Australian market in March 2007, the line will be stocked at Arida, DPO and Orson and Blake in NSW, Cactus Jam, Siberia and Order&Progress in Victoria, Realm in Western Australia, Toy and Emporio Guardi in Queensland and two stockists in New Zealand.
