Gym Junkies gear up for a fashion high

SYDNEY: If a healthy body equals a healthy mind, then sportswear brand Mindoverbody is claiming victory in the wellbeing stakes.
Dc:Already flexing its muscles throughout the North American market, the Sydney-based company is now gearing up for an exclusive distribution deal with chain retailer Rebel Sport.
While the company did not disclose details of the deal - including its financial value - representative Jeff Burnes did confirm that all styles would be exclusive to the multinational retailer.
Available in stores from October, the Mindoverbody (MOB) fitness collection features a wide range of sports apparel including singlets, tops, tights and pants priced from $44.99 to $69.99. Manufactured both locally and overseas, founder Bartek Wrobel said the womenswear collection aims to emphasise both "functionality" and "fashionability."
"I was tired of the complaints from my female peers about poor fitting garments and to be honest, the plain Jane look was becoming an eye sore."
Viewing the deal as an excellent springboard for the brand in Australia and New Zealand, Wrobel added that MOB has already experienced a rapid growth in the past 12 months.
"[We've] offered exclusivity to Rebel Sport for the brands launch and forecast that with its international interests, MOB will be selling in Singapore and Hong Kong in 2007.
"MOB is currently exporting to Northern America and has its goal set on the 52 states of the USA."
The family owned and operated business is also looking to boost its local and international profile through key sponsorship deals with Australian athletes.
"I wanted to put my money where my mouth is so I sponsored female athletes that trained an average of 10 hours a week," Wrobel said. "Our sponsored athletes provide us with valuable feedback on what the 'gym junkies' expect and demand of high-performance active wear."
The company's womenswear line will be stocked at Rebel Sports 63 retail outlets from early October.
