GOLD COAST: American eveningwear importer Hills in Hollywood is set to expand its offerings, opening a fourth Australian store and exploring franchising opportunities. The Gold Coast-based importer already has stores in Bundaberg, Gladstone and Adelaide and is set to open a new retail offering in Maroochydore later this month when it will also launch a new national magazine dubbed High School Formal. MELBOURNE: The Technical Textiles & Nonwoven Association is again joining the CSIRO Textile & Fibre Technology to run a series of product development workshops. The first, taking place on July 17, offers a comprehensive look at nonwoven technologies and markets. Logistics word spreads
AMSTERDAM: International sportswear brand Fila has signed a 10-year contract with TNT Fashion that will see TNT fully responsible for distributing FILA goods to all European destinations. The logistics company will also be involved in bringing in the finished products from the Far East. The 10-year contract, worth more than 100 million Euro ($A166 million) will create new employment opportunities for almost 120 people at a completely newly site.
Fashion meets cuisine in Kings Cross
SYDNEY: A new men's and women's boutique, Haku, is set to open its doors during the Kings Cross Food and Wine Festival on April 29. The store will stock a range of local and international labels including One Teaspoon, Buddhist Punk, Lucky 13, Penny and local Sydney label, Scorned by their mother. Items include jeans, tees, dresses, skirts, jumpers and accessories. Prices range from $48 to $260.
