NOM*D tees stand test of time
Innovative New Zealand label NOM*D has taken the trend for everything vintage to new extremes.
Keen to cash in on the ever-increasing popularity of the brand the Dunedin-based label has re-released a selection of its archived T-shirt prints dating back to its pivotal "Red" Russian collection from Winter 2002.
Dubbed "greatest hits", the collection includes a selection of 10 prints each of which was a former best seller or a personal favourite of NOM*D designer Margi Robertson.
The prints available in the collection include Dunedin, Henry Every, Chris Condent, Spitman, Windows, Monster, Skeleton, Smell Evil, Bitch Session and Pudding Time.
Robertson said the re-release was prompted by a number of motives including the updating of the label's website and strong public interest in the brand, which this year celebrates its 20th birthday.
"[It's partly] in response to several customers over the year requesting specific prints. It also seemed an obvious move now that we have our website up and running [as this is] such an easy tool from which to offer this service."
Each design in the collection is reprinted or restencilled on a made-to-order basis by Robertson's son Sam, who is responsible for all of NOM*D's graphic designs.
The T-shirts, available only online, are priced between $80 and $90.
