Myer blazes into coming season
In what has been hailed as one of its biggest fashion extravaganzas yet, Myer kicked off for the autumn/winter season at the Central City film studios in Melbourne's Docklands last month, with catwalk shows from Australia's leading designers and contemporary brands.
Taking place as part of the L'Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival, the night featured a vast mirror-finished stage complete with bonfires to evoke the autumn/winter theme, which was echoed by a return to black as the key colour for the season.
The catwalks thrummed with the strutting of models from Foxtel Australia's TV hit Next Top Model who displayed true star quality in established brands including Leona Edmiston, Alex Perry, camilla and marc, Country Road, Polo Ralph Lauren, Cue, Charlie Brown, Gorman, Nicola Finetti, Stella McCartney and Viktor+Rolf.
Guests also included representatives from the retailer's suite of recently acquired brands including Aussie label Nevenka.
To top things off, the night played host to well-known faces from Network Seven hit Dancing with the Stars - of which Myer is a principle advertising sponsor. No doubt they would have appreciated the outsized disco balls that set the after party "blinging".
