Diva set to conquer global market
Fashion accessory label Diva has its sights set firmly on international expansion. Currently in the midst of rolling out 15 stores across New Zealand, the company is also looking to open stores in Japan and Singapore over the next 12 months.
Since forming a partnership with UK jewellery giant DCK concessions in 2003, the chain retailer has expanded from one location in Sydney to 109 stores nationwide, three in New Zealand and stores throughout Canada, Israel, Germany, Prague and the UK.
Diva CEO Mark Hayman was unavailable for comment at the time of press, however the brand's public relations representative, Allyson Yates, said the move fits in with the label's aim to become a truly international brand.
"There is an opening in the New Zealand market for Diva, which can offer fashion accessories which are the latest look and first to market," she said. "Diva can capture the fashion jewellery market with affordable prices, constant new ranges and quality products."
The New Zealand rollout will include several stores throughout Auckland, Wellington, New Plymouth, Christchurch and Hamilton. Each store will stock Diva's current range of nickel-free earrings, bracelets, necklaces, rings, bangles and lockets starting at $5.95. Yates said consumers can expect "fashion forward" jewellery themes.
"Quirky elegant silver in shapes such as owls, ballerinas and butterflies, locks, hearts and key shapes in chunky bronze and gold styles, antique influenced beads and charms in soft mint and pretty pinks and sailor inspired trinkets in black, white, red and blue."'
While DIVA looks to open stores in Japan and Singapore in the next year, Yates said the current focus is geared towards the first Russian store opening at the end of June.
