Alex Perry gets set to sparkle

Fresh from a recent foray into raceday apparel and footwear, Australian designer Alex Perry has launched a new line of high-end accessories.
Aiming to fill the void of "beautifully detailed pieces" in the marketplace, Perry said the collection was created to complement his range of evening and bridal wear.
"It has been a natural progression for us because once the couture gown has taken shape the next logical question my clients ask me is 'what sort of shoe should I buy?', 'what kind of earrings should I wear?' and then often the handbag is overlooked until the last minute. I found I was visualising certain styles that would compliment my gowns well, but they simply didn't exist in the retail market."
Offering women a range of bridal and evening clutches made from silk fabrics, hand beaded trims and adornments, the collection also includes a new line of bridal footwear and Swarovski crystal earrings.
"The faux bijou collection of predominantly earrings are crafted with similar techniques to those used by prestige jewellers," Perry explained. "We've referenced classic shapes from legendary jewellery houses such as Van Cleef & Arpels.
The earrings will retail from $250 to $600 while the evening and bridal collection is price at $440 to $1100 and the handbags between $250 to $600.
Perry's move into the market is set to be finalised with the opening of his first accessory store in The Strand in August.
"Accessories can make or break an outfit so it is really important to get it right."
