CHINA: The Intertextile Shanghai International Trade Fair for Textiles and Accessories - scheduled August 28 to 30 - is to house an on-site Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) office in recognition of the Chinese government's toughened stance on copycat offenders. In an unprecedented move, China has implemented a compulsory and actionable IPR policy through the establishment of the Complaints Review Panel (CRP), spurred by explosive growth in China's exhibition sector. Global exhibition organiser Messe Frankfurt has worked with the Chinese government's IPR process to ensure CRP officers are based at all Intertextile exhibitions in the region. Nonwovens Workshops
MELBOURNE: The Technical Textiles and Nonwoven Association (TTNA) and CSIRO Textile and Fibre Technology, in conjunction with the International Fibre Centre (IFC), is to present two workshops designed to educate nonwoven industry personnel and supply chain partners on nonwoven technologies and end-use applications. The Nonwovens Basics Course - to take place on July 17 - will cover nonwoven technologies and markets and is aimed at personnel who purchase, use or specify nonwovens or who are considering nonwovens applications. Minding Gazal
SYDNEY: Apparel company Gazal has appointed MindShare as the strategic, implementation and media buying agency for the majority of its clothing and lingerie brands. This is the first time Gazal has appointed a single media agency to manage its apparel portfolio. In the past, each clothing division of Gazal managed its media strategy and buying separate from the rest of the group. MindShare will be responsible for Mambo, Nautica, Kissed, Lovable, Trent Nathan, Van Heusen, Bisley, Kookai, Davenport and Crystelle.

Logistics conference
SYDNEY: The leading Asia-Pacific event for supply chain and logistics management, Smart Conference, will take place July 20 - 21 at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre. Expected to attract more than 1000 delegates, the conference will be organised by the Logistics Association of Australia, Australasian Production and Inventory Control Society, Australian Institute of Purchasing and Materials Management, The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in Australia and the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Australia.
