PERTH: Apparel company Morrison has taken out two awards at the Fremantle First 2005 Business Awards last month. The company won the much coveted Fremantle Retail Business of the Year and the Fremantle Overall Business of the Year awards. It is the third time the company has scooped the award pool, taking out both categories last year and the retail award in 2003.

MELBOURNE: Workwear specialist King Gee has launched a fashion workwear range dubbed Worn Gees and targeted at a young market. The range includes graphic print tees, longer length shorts, cargo pants and military shirts in stain-resistant, distressed fabric wash. Shirts and tees start at $30, while shorts start at $40.

SYDNEY: Australian jewellery designer Maryanne McDonald, who has made her mark in the fashion industry by pioneering the concept of wearable art, has released a range of necklaces using sterling silver dragonflys. MELBOURNE: A handful of fashion designers have diversified their Christmas offer by creating their own festive wrapping paper. Gift wrap by Wayne Cooper, Alannah Hill, Country Road, Zimmermann and Morrissey started selling through Melbourne shopping centre Chadstone's VIP shopping night in late November, with all proceeds donated to the Starlight Children's Foundation.
