MELBOURNE: Withcery is expanding further internationally with a launch into South Africa scheduled for late November this year.

The womenswear chain has announced it will open eight concession spaces in South African department store Stuttafords.

A full range of products will be offered to the market, including dresses, denim, knitwear, shoes, jewellery and bags.

The Stuttafords stores are located in Sandton, Rosebank and Clearwater in Johannesburg, Brooklyn and Menlyn in Pretoria, Gateway in Durban, Canal Walk in Capetown and Eastgate.

Witchery Holdings chief executive officer Iain Nairn said the move into South Africa is the next logical step for the company.

“The key motivators were the strong success that Witchery has achieved in Singapore and secondly the potential for growth in the South African market,” he said.

Further expansion into South Africa may see WitcheryMan and WitcheryKids also enter the market.

Witchery launched into Asia earlier this year with a store in Singapore’s ION Orchard complex. It has also opened a store at Changi International Airport.

The brand now operates 185 concept and concession stores across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and South Africa.
