MELBOURNE: Witchery has opened its first apparel store in the Asian market, with the brand signalling more international stores are on the way.

The new concept store within Singapore's Changi airport retails Witchery's women's apparel and accessories. The 98 square-metre site is one of 300 stores that have opened in the airport since its recent refurbishment.

As Witchery Holdings CEO Ian Nairn revealed to Ragtrader in our February 12, 2010 edition, Witchery planned to roll out its apparel offering in Asia after first testing the performance of an accessories-only store. The company opened its first accessories boutique within Singapore's high-end ION Orchard shopping centre in March 2010.

Nairn indicated the company is continuing to look for international opportunities.

“Singapore is fast becoming the shopping heart of Asia. With Witchery gaining a lot of interest at ION Orchard together with our Changi store opening in early August, we believe the brand is well positioned to expand further into the Asian region,” Nairn said.

The new concept store features a sandstone floor, dark timber louvres, and textured fabric panels.

Witchery is owned and operated by Witchery Holdings. The company also owns accessories brand Mimco.
