SYDNEY: Westfield Bondi Junction has thrown its support behind students of the The Whitehouse Institute of Design, offering three $5000 scholarships towards tuition fees.
The Sydney shopping centre is now showcasing a selection of work by students of the college in an exhibition themed "Whitehouse Shine at Westfield Bondi Junction".
Three students form the fields of fashion design, styling and interior design were chosen by lecturers at the school to present their work. The pieces will be on show for two weeks on the centre's level five bridge.
Last night, one winner from each discipline was chosen to receive a scholarship, funded by Westfield. For the fashion category, the winner was Nerida Bourne and for styling it was Eloise Arnold.
The students were judged by Mandy Morgan of Leona Edmiston, Natalie de Freitas of Universal Music and Brian Gorman, the Westfield Regional Manager of National Design.
The announcement was made at a cocktail party, attended by industry representatives.
