SYDNEY: Westfield will stage a retrospective exhibition to celebrate its 50th year as a publicly listed company.
The shopping centre giant will host its annual general meeting (AGM) on May 27 at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre. On display for attending members will be an exhibition celebrating Westfield through the decades.
Also on the agenda for the AGM is the election of a new director. Current director Gary Weiss is due to retire in May and standing for election is chairman of AGL Energy and of Australian Financial Centre Forum, Mark Johnson.
Current directors Frederick Hilmer, John McFarlane, Judith Sloan and Frank Lowy will all stand for re-election.
The first Westfield centre was opened by Frank Lowy and John Saunders in Blacktown in Sydney's west. Today, Westfield operates 119 shopping centres across Australia, New Zealand, the UK and the US.
