NEW ZEALAND: Kiwi designer Karen Walker has continued to lend her support to New Zealand's up and coming designers by offering one the chance to work on her next show at New York Fashion Week.
The award from the Auckland-based designer, who also takes on one new staff member each year as part of a scholarship program offered to "inspiring New Zealanders", is only open to aspiring Kiwi fashion designers aged between 15 and 18.
Dubbed The Newmarket Young Fashion Designer Award, the program's prize pack also includes a 12-month scholarship at Whitecliffe College of Arts & Design and two-week design assistant internship working alongside designer Vicki Taylor.
Registrations close on June 15.
