Von Troska moves with the times
Sydney womenswear retail label Von Troska has expanded its offering to include labels from established and emerging designers.
Von Troska founder Traudl Troska - who owns four stores across Mosman, Paddington and Sydney's CBD previously solely stocking her self named womenswear label - said the decision came as a result of wanting to offer customers a wider range of "the things that I love".
"Women these days tend not to wear just one label and I think the stores should reflect that," she said.
The change - described by Troska as "themed around the idea of Von Troska and friends" - will be effective from winter 2006.
The stores would stock around 50 per cent Troska's self-named label, while the remaining 50 per cent will be divided equally between established and emerging designers.
"The mix will be different from store to store as in some cases the labels I am Established labels recently "There are some great emerging talents out there," said Troska.
These include Melanie Cutfield and High Tea with Mrs Woo from Sydney as well as Miranda Brown and Women, both from New Zealand.
"Women offers really nice suits with a twist - not just the boring suit that you wear to the office - and it hasn't been represented in Sydney before," she said.
The revised retail mix would allow Troska to spend more time developing her jewellery collection, Schon - first released for winter 2005, she said.
"I'll also be stocking a few accessories such as candles in the stores. Shopping for fashion should be more fun, it shouldn't be so stitched up and serious," she said.
"Customers are demanding more, and so they should."
