SYDNEY: The race to the inaugural Vogue Fashion's Night Out (Sydney) event has officially kicked off with an industry briefing taking place this morning.
Representatives from RM Williams, Cue, Chanel, Hermes and Coach were among some of the key retailers to attend the trade-only presentation at Sydney's Ivy Penthouse complex.
Sydney will be among 16 fashion capitals around the world to host the shopping event, which aims to reinvigorate retail in central business districts.
Vogue representative Skye Fisher revealed the Sydney instalment, which will take place on September 9, will focus on the central retail grid of Pitt Street, Martin Place and Castlereagh Street.
The official launch will take place in Martin Place at 5.30pm and close with an official party at the Ivy complex from 6 to 11pm.
Retailers which attended the briefing told Ragtrader there were no fees for taking part in the event, but all had been initially approached as regular advertisers of Vogue Australia.
It is understood participating retailers are planning major store activations, signage and special vouchers as part of their involvement.
A major social media push will form part of the marketing blitz in the lead up to the event, with a viral campaign set to go live on vogue.com.au today.
