MELBOURNE: Streetwear brand Vans will capitalise on growing consumer demand in Melbourne with the launch of its second domestic store at Chadstone Shopping Centre in November.
Positioned on the ground floor, the 168 square metre site will open for trade on November 3 and stock a full range of footwear, apparel and accessories.
The brand is distributed in Australia and New Zealand by Accent Group, which also holds the license for Dr. Martens and Skechers footwear. As reported in the latest issue of Ragtrader, the group is also preparing to launch Replay Footwear and Palladium Boots into Australian stores from 2011.
Accent Group general manager Daniel Agostinelli said the first Vans store in Melbourne Central had already traded above expectations, with the decision to expand into Chadstone suiting the city's position as "Australia's skateboarding capital".
"By opening our second Vans store in Australia, we hope to increase brand awareness, particularly in exciting new footwear categories and our ever growing apparel line. People are really receptive to Vans’ authenticity and heritage, so it makes sense to extend our retail footprint in Melbourne.”
