DUNEDIN: New Zealand businessman Mark Lockwood joined the growing team at Dunedin's Business Incubator Upstart last week as the company's new general marketing manager. Previously providing strategic marketing advice to an importer and distributor of FMCG products, Lockwood's key focus was to build brands and search globally for new opportunities. Upstart CEO Norman Evans says the addition of Lockwood to the Upstart team makes the value proposition of incubation in Dunedin even stronger.

:Effigy expands
SYDNEY: Designing all their own graphics, Jade Dockary and Kate Stancliffe have expanded their womenswear label Effigy. Crop bomber jackets that show off printed lining are layered with cropped knitted cardigans and three quarter pants. Deer, tiger moths, unicorns, tigers, and skulls are printed in a manic mix of art deco swirls on tees and singlets. Priced from $39.95 to $75, stockists include General Pants and selected independent boutiques nationally.

SYDNEY: Hair accessory and jewellery brand Philippa launched its glass infused resin magnetic hair cuffs and barrettes into David Jones last week and will be adding its jewellery collection on May 1. SYDNEY: Hosiery specialist Kayser has released a sock designed to wear with this season's winter boots. The Razzamatazz Boot Sok - which features a boot length leg, velvet texture and a knitted heel to prevent slipping - is available in black and chocolate brown through major discount department stores nationally, priced $6.50.
