SYDNEY: Charlie Brown will kick off the individual designer collection shows at this year's Rosemount Sydney Fashion Festival (RSFF).
Tickets to the consumer event went on sale this week, with Charlie Brown selling seats to an individual catwalk parade. Brown will showcase her 2010/11 spring/summer collection, 'Altered States', at Sydney Town Hall on August 24.
Brown said the public can expect to see a return of the “celebrity elements” she has utilised in previous shows, such as runway appearances from the likes of Lily Cole, Jerry Hall and Sophie Dahl.
“I'm excited to be back on the runway and showing the new Spring Summer collection direct to my friends, fans and customers,” Brown said.
“My 'Altered States' range is full of bold colours and prints and fun pieces for the party season.”
Also hitting the catwalk on the first full day of RSFF is Myer, which will showcase spring/summer fashion from Fernando Frisoni, Manning Cartell, Nina Maya, Cue, Yeojin Bae and more.
Designers who participated in Rosemount Australian Fashion Week (RAFW) back in May will also get time on the RSFF catwalk via a series of group shows. The first will be held in the wake of Brown's catwalk parade and will feature creations from Anna & Boy, Bianca Spender, Camilla and Marc, Fernando Frisoni, Gary Bigeni, Ginger & Smart, Manning Cartell and more.
RSFF will run from August 23 to 28 and will feature satellite events in addition to the catwalk shows. The combination of free and ticketed events are designed to help drive exposure of local labels as well as boost fashion retail sales.
The event is coordinated by RAFW organiser, IMG Asia Pacific.
