I earn a crust by: Being the designer and director of my self named fashion brand Rachel Gilbert Sydney.
Just before I answered these I was: Checking out style.com at all the new runway shows in Europe...and booking my flight to London in a few weeks for a meeting.
My worst habit is: I would have to say my smoking although I have just invested in a book Easy way to stop smoking so we may have to have a back up for this question...well, let's hope so.
If I were a fashion item I'd be: A Gucci handbag; they are admirable, fashionable, quality, and cherished.
Who I'd like to be if not me: For obvious reasons let me say Victoria Beckham.
People tell me I'm: Vague but I like to say "creatively in my own world".
My wardrobe favourite i: My Gucci pumps, I now have them in four different colours, slightly obsessed.
If I could banish one trend it would be: Socks and shoes with dresses - this is an absolute catastrophe and I see it all the time, which is unfortunate.
My biggest splurge was: A Bulgari ring for my boyfriend. Current status: no ring, new boyfriend. You live and learn.
Money can't buy happiness but: Neither can poverty. Happiness depends on a how a person views the world, money or no money.
I've never told anyone this but: Ever since I was little, I always wanted to be a lawyer.
When down to my last $1000 - Tom Ford or Target: Ummm is this a trick question. . . Tom Ford.
What this industry needs is: Less air kisses and more sincerity.
