Name: Merline Tan McGregor
Sometimes people call me
Merls, Macka, Merlot, or Oi you
I earn a crust by
Marketing the exceptional shopping centre Highpoint, where all your retail dreams can come true
Just before I answered these I was
Developing a template on which I will be reviewing our brand agency. We're using a simple scoring system, as wordy analyses tend to set my teeth on edge. Let the numbers speak for themselves
My worst habit is
Making strange, loud noises in the office, and talking very loudly on the phone. I can't help it, I'm excitable
If I were a fashion item I'd be
A classic Little Black Dress. Always ready to go from day to night
Who I'd like to be if not me
This is a hard one because there are so many people I admire, but don't want to be. I admire strong people who command respect, speak with authority, and still retain a sense of humour
People tell me I'm
Excitable, passionate, warm, a great dancer (it's true, the sprinkler is my signature move) and an absolutely terrible singer
My wardrobe favourite is
My brown Natasha boots that my partner surprised me with a couple of months ago. They are the perfect colour and height, and go with almost anything in my wardrobe
If I could banish one trend it would be
The all in one jumpsuit. I don't care what you make it out of, I don't care what colour it is, I don't care if you call it retro, it is only flattering to 1% of the female population. The all in one jumpsuit is solely responsible for the increase in queuing time in female toilets
Melbourne is the nation's fashion capital because
There is something about Melbourne that no other city has. We have the perfect weather to showcase the full fashion experience throughout the year, and don't forget... black is always in
My biggest splurge was
A Thurley dress that I 'just had to have' for my 30th birthday. I still haven't seen a dress since that I love as much
Money can't buy happiness but
It does come in handy when you exceed your credit card limit. Happiness to me is my friends, family and a good cheese
I've never told anyone this but
I get really nervous just prior to a campaign launching. It's like opening night jitters
When down to my last $1000 - Tom Ford or Target
Both
What this industry needs is
More body image ambassadors for people above a size eight.
