MELBOURNE: Independent label TV has scored an international coup, landing a coveted place on the floor of UK retailer Topshop.

The high street giant has picked up nine of the brand's autumn/winter 2010 pieces. The collection is themed 'Nothing but Flowers’ and hit the Topshop store network this month.

Topshop has a long history of embracing independent brands, with British labels Christopher Kane, Marios Schwab and Richard Nicoll amongst its past and present collaborators.

Melbourne-based TV was established in 2006 and is designed by Monika Tywanek and Ingrid Verner. Key elements include sculpted knitwear, technical tailoring, graphic prints and collaborations with artists. The brand is now focused on developing its international stockist reach, with Europe and the US key targets.

“Our presence in the European markets will help define which city we show our next collection in - we have always been interested in showing in London or New York," Tywanek stated.

The duo plan to travel to the UK later this year to attend Wool Week, an initiative founded by Prince Charles' The Wool Project.

TV is currently stocked in selected boutiques across Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the US.
