PERTH: WA fashion design continues to challenge eastern cities, with local designers awarded for innovation, creativity and fine details in the Mercedes-Benz WA Fashion Awards.
Womenswear label Joveeba, designed by Allison Cotton, was awarded Most Innovative WA Designer, up against Aurelio Costarella and Antipodium. The trend oriented brand was launched in 2003, with printed skirts, tops and dresses teamed with casual boyfriend jackets a key look.
Up and coming label Paper Sky won Designer for Tomorrow, while jeweller Sophie Kyron took top honours in the Fine Details category. Contemporary menswear boutique Zekka was awarded Best-Dressed boutique.
Models were also awarded for their talent, with Millicent Lambert named Hot New Talent, Paris Fontana as Runway Model of the Year and Bridget Malcom as Photographic Model of the Year.
The event was part of the Perth Fashion Festival.
