MELBOURNE: Victorian licensing group TNF has been awarded the rights to market and distribute the Champion sportswear brand exclusively across Australasia.

It is believed TNF beat off stiff competition from as many as 10 other licensing groups to secure the three-year account.

The group, which last year was named Rebel Sport's apparel supplier of the year, will relaunch the Hanesbrands-owned label as early as December with a major marketing push.

TNF Group managing director Guy Tuthill said his company was currently developing a new range of technical sports bras with the label with its existing styles holding 15 of the top 25 bras sold in the US.

Champion had a heritage that was "truly aligned" with sportswear, and the groups shared similar values in terms of product offering style and value," Tuthill said.

The other licences held by the TNF Group, which was established in 2003, include Performax, Track n Field, Leluu and Player.
