Brand new Edition
Online marketplace The Grand Social made its move into bricks-and-mortar retailing with the unveiling of its Sydney store, Edition. Located in a prime corner position in Darlinghurst, the two-level site features an art space as well as apparel from the likes of Friedrich Gray and Ellery. Photographer Kasia Werstak and designer Kym Ellery were on hand to toast the launch.
New in the city
After three years of redevelopment, Lend Lease and Fortius Funds Management officially opened Sydney city’s newest shopping centre, the Midcity Centre. Star guest at the launch was designer and celebrity Nicole Richie who entertained crowds of Sydney shoppers. Among the retailers opening in the glass-fronted centre was denim boutique Pink Zebra, pictured above.
Belstaff bash
Nick Mascitelli Imports (NMI) invited motorcycle and fashion aficionados to celebrate the unveiling of its latest brand acquisition, Belstaff. Leather jackets were plentiful at the party, staged inside motorcycle temple Deus ex Machina in Sydney’s Camperdown. Among those who turned out for the occasion were NMI CEO David Mascitelli and Keiron Fitzpatrick and Dare Jennings from Deus Ex Machina.
Art and sole
True Alliance invited designers including Nicola Finetti and Peter Morrissey to customise a pair of Ugg Australia boots for a Smith Family charity auction. The company unveiled the creations at Sydney’s Restaurant Arras on June 22 to a crowd of fashionistas and fundraisers.
