GEELONG: Target is set to throw open the doors to its new design and quality assurance centre.
The discount department store has teamed up with the Technical Textiles and Nonwoven Association (TTNA) to host an afternoon for TTNA members.
The October 7, 2010 event will include access to Target's new design centre, developed this year as part of the retailer's upgrade of its quality assurance techniques.
The afternoon will also include a talk by Target personnel on the company's new quality assurance centre and techniques.
The change to the retailer's quality assurance measures comes in the wake of a handful of product recalls. Apparel items Target has recalled this year include the Catriona Rowntree babywear range and the Lady Bird hooded sweat top.
Target also recalled toy products the Infantino Clack and Teethe rattle and the Jungle Friends bead rattle.
TTNA is an industry organisation that represents the interests of technical textile workers and manufacturers. The TTNA works with government bodies as well as providing information and education opportunities to local members.
