Sydney raids uncover millions

Police have seized more than $2.6 million worth of counterfeit luxury brands in two raids in Sydney's west.
Private investigators joined forces with police on February 2, raiding a house on Woodville Road at Guilford at approximately 12.50pm. The raid uncovered 1395 counterfeit brand-name items valued at about $1.2 million.
Several hours later, police searched a storage unit on Woodville Road and found a further 2135 counterfeit items valued at $1.4 million.
The counterfeit items included handbags, umbrellas, wallets, diaries and belts branded Gucci, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Roxy, Billabong, Fende and Prada.
Stephen Stern, partner of Corrs Chambers Westgarthe who are lawyers for Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Dior, told Ragtrader that both raids uncovered more than 1500 Louis Vuitton, 650 Gucci and 600 Dior counterfeit products.
No charges had been laid at the time of press and investigations are continuing.
