SYDNEY: The school responsible for training designers Dion Lee, Nicky Zimmermann and Akira Isogawa has unveiled a sneak peak of graduate work that will appear in its forthcoming parade.
TAFE NSW Sydney Institute’s Fashion Design Studio will present its graduate showcase on November 17 at Carriageworks in Redfern. Pictured is a first look at some of the work which will be on display.
Year one students will show work drawing on the themes of utility, work wear and military. Level two students will present swimwear, tailoring and cocktail style. Final year students will show evening gowns themed The Collector and also their own signature ranges.
The parades will be judged by The Sydney Magazine editor Kirsten Galliot, Ben Pollitt of Friedrich Gray, Sunday Telegraph fashion editor Prue Lewington and designer Magdalena Velevska.
A student will be selected for an internship with retailer David Lawrence. Another will be awarded the Dylon Dyes prize for the best adaptation of an artists work on a garment.
